Studio Policies

School Standards

A positive and respectful attitude is a must! Respect for yourself and for others, students or staff is absolutely necessary. We expect all dancers and their families to be supportive of each other inside and outside the Studio. We encourage dancers to support and help each other to become better dancers and people. We need all of our dancers and parents to lead by example by adhering to all Hayley Ann Dance Academy rules and directions. This includes graciously accepting constructive criticism from teachers and choreographers that will help you strive towards excellence and refraining from criticizing each other.  Positivity must prevail!!!  We ask all members of our Studio Family to remember:

Attendance

We cannot stress enough the importance of attending regular classes as well as all other mandatory rehearsals and events. Please ensure you are early and dressed accordingly to the event/rehearsal/show. Our admin spends a great deal of time planning ahead and providing a list of dates at the beginning of the year so that everyone will know when events are scheduled. We expect that calendars will be marked in advanced to ensure that your dancer will make arrangements in order to attend. It is not fair when some families make sacrifices to meet expectations and attend required events and others do not.

Communication

If anyone has any questions or concerns thought the year, please contact the school by phone or e-mail (905) 989-2262 (admin@hayleyanndanceacademy.com) visit us during office hours Monday-Friday 3:00pm-8:00pm to ensure you get the attention you deserve. Please DO NOT present concerns or questions in the middle or between classes, as this takes away from the class and is unfair to the students. Updates, information and newsletters will be uploaded to our social media platforms, while also be emailed to you. If you are not receiving emails, please check you spam and junk folders and add Hayley Ann Dance Academy to your contact list.

Food & Drinks/Studio Care

Sometimes dancers are at the studio for long periods of time and so it is not only a good idea but necessary to bring meals and snacks to the studio as well as their own water. Since this is YOUR studio too, we expect that you will help to take care of it by cleaning after yourself. There are always waste and recycling bins available. Paper towels are available if a mess needs to be cleaned up.

Cell Phones/Valuables

Cell phones must be turned OFF and out of sight during class. If a parent needs to contact a student who is in class, please call the studio number. Note that all valuables should be left at home. The studio is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items. Students are permitted to bring their valuables into the class with them but must refrain from using them.

Safety & Security

Signing in and out is required, by every parent/guardian, even if you are staying at the studio while your child(ren) are in class. If you attend to drop your child off and give signed permission that your child is allowed to sign in and out by themselves, please ensure that your child is in the building before you leave the parking lot and during pick up please contact the studio or a personal cellphone (not during class time) that your are waiting for them outside of the building, this applies to if you are late for pick up as well. Our teachers are only responsible for the dancers during class time.
